Western Tanager
This male Western Tanager (Piranga ludoviciana) was captured among the fruit trees in the historic part of Capitol Reef National Park known as the Fruita. Early settlers in the late 19 century planted fruit trees in the fertile valley which is still maintained by the National park service.
