Pigeon House
In old Persia, Pigeon droppings was prized as a potent fertilizer. This Pigeon house (Kabootar khaneh) is located in the ancient town of Meybod in Yazd Province in central Iran. The unique design and engineering of these towers by ancient pre-islamic era builders protects the Pigeons from natural enemies and provides for ease of entry while housing thousands of birds.
